A RF technology (RF) signal refers to a wireless electromagnetic signal used as a form of communication when it comes to wireless electronics. Radio waves are a form of electromagnetic radiation whose identified radio frequencies range from 3 kHz to 300 GHz. Frequency refers to the rate of vibration (of radio waves). RF propagation occurs at the speed of light and does not require a medium such as air for its propagation. Radio frequency waves are created naturally by solar flares, lightning, and stars in space that emit radio frequency waves as they age.

Humanity communicates with artificially generated radio waves vibrating at various chosen frequencies. RF communications are used in many industries including television broadcasting, radar systems, computer and mobile platform networks, remote control, remote measurement/surveillance and many more.

While individual radio components such as mixers, filters and power amplifiers can be classified by operating frequency range, they cannot be strictly classified by a radio standard (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.) physical layer (PHY). Support. In contrast, RF modules, transceivers, and SoCs often include data link layer support for one or more wireless communication protocols. These products are grouped by wireless technology and can be found under the Solutions tab.

Radio frequency technology

Many types of wireless devices use RF fields. Cordless and cellular phones, TVs and radio stations, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, satellite communication systems and two-way radios all operate in the RF spectrum. In addition, other non-communication devices, including microwave ovens and garage door openers, operate on radio frequencies. Some wireless devices, such as TV remote controls, keyboards and computer mice, operate on IR frequencies, which are shorter electromagnetic wavelengths.
